Extended Bidding

Watch our how-to video:

What Is Extended Bidding?

Every lot has a scheduled closing time. However, if there is active bidding within 5 minutes of the scheduled closing time for an item, that item will remain open until 5 minutes have elapsed with no new bids. Using the refresh button will allow you to see exactly how much time is left before an item will close.

For example:

1. Lot scheduled to close at 6:30 p.m.

2. Bid placed at 6:29 p.m.

3. New close time is 6:34 p.m.

4. Bid placed at 6:31 p.m.

5. New close time is 6:36 p.m.

6. No new bids received; item closes at 6:36 p.m.

Equip-Bid's goal is to emulate the live auction process. This practice reduces tactics like bid sniping and ensures that all bidders have a chance to participate in the items that they want.
